This model was not an official Yesteryear but released as a Code 2. The model was so nicely decorated and is much sort after, that it is justifiably felt a worthwile mention.
The Y12 Ford T Van was given away free to the first applicants that sent in 50 vouchers from the boses containing 36 packets of Smith's crisps. Within three days of the offer, every model had been snapped up.

A SMITHS CRISP'S DIAMOND JUBILEE model was commisioned and produced for the famous Smiths Crisps Company in England to celebrate their diamond jubilee from 1920 -1980 and was only issued as an incentive to select retailers who stocked and sold large quantites of Smiths Crisps. Only 500 of these models were ever produced and they were never sold to the general public. This is a fantastic model which is extremley hard to find due to the limited numbers avaliable.

Livery: (Decal) - 60 Years Diamond Jubilee decals on van sides with 'Please sound your horn so that we can extend to you the courtesy of the road' written across smooth rear doors.

Other Comments/Identifying Features: A Y12 baseplate.
The models were purchased in the normal manner by Smith's, then stripped of paint, fresh colours applied and re-assembled.

It is considered by some as the better version. It was made by a private person and is considered a real gem by collectors.
